My senior DD has been captain of her mock trial team for three years (starting her sophomore year). She’s received two varsity letters with captain’s pins. One of those years she was a captain, they were the state champions. Is it ridiculous to indicate this as a Varsity Sport because she “lettered”?

mock trial should be reported as an activity, not a sport. you can mention varsity letter in the awards line.

A lot of schools have broadened the letter jacket categories so kids who aren’t jocks can get jackets. I got mine in debate. Academic letters don’t count as varsity sports.

Thanks for the quick response. That’s what we thought, but didn’t want to just assume :)

so you can list it as “Academic” instead of a sport of course and then put down “Varsity” in the Positions Held, Letters Earned Line?
