model united nation

My school is partecipating in the model united nation program, so i have the opportunity to go to NY for the final simulation. Given that my ecs lack of international breath, do you think that this could help my application? If yes, how much? I really would like to partecipate, regardless of the application but i don’t think my parents are very likely to pay the journey (about € 2000) unless this could be useful for the application.

Thank you in advance

New York City is home to some of the best high schools in the US – Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science, Brooklyn Tech, not to mention all the private schools. Each of those high schools has a “Model UN” program and together those high schools must send hundreds of students every year to “Model UN” – and all of them do not get into HYPS. Bottom line: If the trip is too costly, don’t go and don’t sweat it. Participating in the program will not increase your chances.
