This is the CeraVe facial moisturizer I use.

I also am a fan of the CeraVe PM facial lotion. I have tried the AM version which has SPF 30, but it seems to irritate my skin. Target has a great price on the PM lotion. Thanks to @SnLMom for the link.

For an eye cream I have been using Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream… very nice. Also another option is Burt’s Bees. They make two, one is in their replenish line.
I have used all sorts of expensive eye creams (I’m a face-product and make-up junky). I was using a pricy Chanel product (Sublimage-Le Creme Yeux). It worked well and I liked it, but at Christmas, my son-in-law’s mother gave me an eye cream that she brought back from Russia. (She was born in Russia and visiting her family). The stuff was great; she said it was inexpensive and had mostly herbal ingredients–from Siberia. She says she’ll buy me more when she goes back this summer.
I’ve been using L’Oreal Revitalift for years with no issues - they have a day and night version. Sometimes I find it at TJ Maxx. I’ve also learned that ordering online at Target for pickup yields a lower cost than just buying it off the shelf.
I use and love Oil of Olay Regenerist line. Very happy with it!
@VeryHappy The Cera Ve cream in the link you shared in post #2 looks just like the one that I have that is just a generic hand and body cream. The ones I have tried that are specifically marketed as facial moisturizers are more lotion like. I would like to find something that is more the consistency of that cream in the tub that is a facial moisturizer. Neutrogena used to make one like that, it was an intensive day moisturizer. They stopped making it though, probably because it didn’t have sunscreen in it and I haven’t found anything similar yet.
I use that Cera Ve cream at night, on the nights I’m not using the retinoid. (I use Green Cream #6 from the DermStore.com.) During the day, I use this Cera Ve cream: https://smile.amazon.com/CeraVe-Moisturizing-Facial-Lotion-AM/dp/B003WN1ELQ/ref=sr_1_10_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1489960387&sr=8-10&keywords=Cera%2BVe&th=1
Even though it has SPF 30 in it, I have to use additional SPF 50 when I walk my dogs.
I also use a facial Buff Puff at night with Cetaphil when I wash my face.
And I don’t wash my face in the morning – just rinse it in the shower.
I’m very happy with the results of my routine.
I swear by using a face scrub in the morning shower, makes my face feel smooth. Of course, follow up with products, too many to list.
I use CeraVe PM. Also for vitamin C serum, I just mix a small amount of vitamin C powder from Trader joe’s with water
I just bought Cerave PM last week. When can you start telling the difference?
Does any of this stuff really work?
I use Oil of Olay with sunscreen. Sunscreen works. But all the rest of the claims for wrinkle reduction, puffiness reduction and so on seem like so much snake oil.
I’ve tried a ton of these products, but none make me look 18 again so, no, they don’t work.
I’d be happy with ten years younger, ChoatieMom. Many have said here that they like the products, but not the results. I was looking at the words for a new product line and some comparables, yesterday, and noticed they say these stave off aging, not improve things for those of us over 30 or 40. I want the miracle product, lol.
biochemistry 101: nothing short of physical intervention (lasers, surgery) will reduce the appearance of aging and sun damage, but the SPF and moisturizers will be able to prevent some of the potential future damage.
^ that actually helps, BB. Thx.
I like some Murad products, but the effect is only as long as you use them. And for me, every so often, the effect will be less obvious, I change to something else in my bag o’ tricks. Can depend on season, where I am, whether I’ve been tired, eating well, etc. Alas.

My skin had become dry and flaky, especially around my eyebrows. I noticed a difference after the first use. No more flakiness and no irritation under eyes since using CeraVe PM.

My recommendation for CeraVe PM was in response to the OP who was looking for an inexpensive, gentle moisturizer that won’t irritate the skin under the eye which has recently become dry and tight. IMHO, CeraVe PM fits the bill on all accounts. No claims of staving off aging / wrinkles, but very effective at fighting dryness.
I’ll take that, then. I’ve never used anything because I didn’t think it all really worked, except Retin A. That does work. But my skin does feel a little dry, and everyone was sweating by this…that their skin felt great the next day.
I have really sensitive, dry skin, and use Caudalie moisturizing sorbet. Works great!
