Molecular bio = HELL

I previously took two mol bio courses, both of which were primarily memorization-driven. The 3rd year mol bio course I’m taking now is focused on application. The main things covered are various DNA techniques and their use, doing protein fusions into vectors, crazy stuffs with cDNA libraries and transgenics, etc. Most of them by themselves are not very hard. The exam is based on application, and I have problem with questions on devising experiments to do something (for example, devising an exp to check if fruit fly has a homologue of human oncogene).

This course is seriously a billion times harder than orgo, which I aced, thanks to Klein’s. Are there any books (or even websites or any other source) for molecular bio or biochem that are similar to Klein’s for orgo?
Any other tips for success in this course would be appreciated.

Sounds like your problem is understanding the analysis, not memorizing the facts. Talk to the professor, graduate TA’s if there are any, join a study group… They are trying to teach you approach these problems like a scientist (good for them) rather than just regurgitating facts. Note: the latter is much more like medical school, so you should consider how much you really need to know this stuff.
