How is their mol bio program? My understanding is that although it is a relatively small department, a lot of money has been alocated into bio research and academics. Also, one researcher whom I worked with at MIT describes that the mol bio program is “budding.” Ultimately, I’m trying to decide if Harvard will be a better match for a molecular biology major.

bump please

Yeah, I have the same question.

Same - I assume it’s good, being Princeton and all. Maybe putting it down on the “What majors are you interested in?” question will help my chances of getting in since it’s a new department and they may need people to fill it…

You probably know that President Tilghman is a mol prof. The summer after junior year, mol concentrators get stipends to do research on campus. The valedictorians are often mol concentrators, for some reason…

Do you know how successful mol concentrators are at getting into good medical schools?

05 val is mol concentrator and is going to Harvard.

any Nobel Prize winning professor in the molecular biology department?

at least one: eric wieschaus (1995).
