I bought this dress for my niece’s graduation https://www.talbots.com/online/dresses/rickrack-trim-ponte-shift-dress-prdi45603/N-10189?selectedConcept=&akamai-feo=off, in the black. It’s in DC in the middle of May. I really did not have any dresses that fit because I rarely wear dresses. I’m a pretty perfect petite size and the dress is about 2 inches above the knee which is the most flattering spot for me. I have a black shrug which I can put on but I figured that DC will be warm the middle of May.
I’m going to pair it with silver flat sandals. Lots of walking involved always at a graduation.
I literally tried on every dress they had in my size at Talbots and this style was the most flattering on me.
The way the weather is going, you might want to consider a snowmobile suit. Sorry, had to vent. 
@deb922, I’ve always loved that neckline! Great dress. I’m traveling at the moment but will need to figure out what I’m wearing to D’s graduation in upstate NY over Memorial Day. Kind of hoping I have a good option in the closet…
