Money for a doctorate

Hello everyone! I am new to this site! I was wondering if anyone knew of any alternatives to paying for a doctorate rather than the old “get a loan” song? I welcome all feedback. Thanx

There are universities that will pay for your doctorate studies if you can gain admission into the programs. This can be extremely difficult though, and you really have to be among the top in your proposed field.

We have a graduate school forum you should post this in. And Madson is right – you usually get a stipend and tuition reimbursement for doctoral studies in exchange for teaching and research jobs.

If you hold a graduate teaching assistant position on top of working in a research lab, generally it’s paid for.

Be specific - what kind of doctorate are you talking about? But as others have said, you can get many PhD programs paid for by your research, teaching, etc.
