I’m a senior in high school and right now i really, really want to go to Chicago for physics. It has most things i want in a college and i love the city. However, my family does not quite qualify for financial aid (through FAFSA anyways) and the cost might be a factor in me not being able to attend. That being said, is it possible that i might be offered financial aid from the college? What other kinds of programs do they have to help students financially?

Chicago offers some merit aid - I think some were 9500, and a small number of 31,000 scholarships for the most highly qualified students.

The princeton university aid estimator was pretty close at predicting my son’s package. It is possible that you may do better with the institutional methodology - worth looking at, anyway.

Plus loans are available regardless of income.

Chicago’s financial aid is hit-or-miss, so you might qualify for some FA. Chicago was very helpful about my bargaining for more FA money, so it’s not impossible to ask for (more) FA. Consider [this chart](http://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/level3.asp?id=68) if you haven’t already. For merit aid, Chicago offers three scholarships:
~30 full tuition scholarships
~150 $9500 scholarships
$2500 National Merit scholarships :)
