Not sure if this is appropriate place to ask, but here goes. Last week, someone seemed to have hacked into my account and transfer 220 dollars into their own Discovery bank account. I only have one linked account from Bank of America. This person added his own account and I didn’t even get any notification email. The only thing that I got was two emails from Paypal, in Chinese, that said something about the transaction. I thought something was amiss, so I immediately logged into my account and was horried to find that some jerks had transferred that money without my authorization.
I called customer support on Sunday, and they said that they will refund the money within 24 hours. I remove the Discovery bank account and changed my password. The next day, I still hadn’t received my money back. I called them again, and this time another lady said that she opened a case for me, and it should take at max 15 days to investigate. I just checked my status, and there is no open cases at all. Are they really investigating this? Can I really get my money back in 2 weeks? If not, what legal actions can I take? If anyone has had their money stolen before, did you get it back? Should I do any transaction with Paypal until this is resolved?
I am so worried now.
