hello, I’ve recently picked one of my monolgues. It’s from the play FOB by David Henry Hwang and the role of Grace. I feel this is a really good piece for me as it fits my asian american ethnicity and I completely understand and identify with the character. I, however, am having trouble trimming down the monologue to approximately 1 minute and yet still retain the theme and meaning of the piece. Also, I am unsure if the piece truly shows a lot of acting range…i can’t classify it as comedic or dramatic. I guess it is serious, but not heavy enough to be a dramatic piece.

does anyone know this piece? should i use it for my college auditions? I can PM you the monolgue if you haven’t heard or read it.

I also am having trouble finding a comedic monolgue. I’ve looked at a lot of plays, but nothing stands out. I’ve also heard that Christopher Durange is overdone. Is this correct?
