At the audition, what kind of info do you need to have for your monologue? Just the name of the play and author?

Thanks!

A few people have said they were required to list the publisher as well. We are making it a habit to carry the actual script with us to each audition just to be safe.

What if it doesn’t have a publisher listed? One of the ones she is using is a Wade Bradford play, Cinema Limbo & this play is in a book w/some of his others, but there is not a publisher listed!

So far, and its only been 2, he’s only had to say the name and author.

The book that the play is in should have a publisher…I would use that

I’ve honestly never heard of anyone being asked for the publisher–I wonder if that’s to check whether the monologue is from a real play as opposed to either a snippet from monologue book or something obscure on the internet.

I think if you take the monologue from an actual play, and read the whole play, you’re fine. Just know the play well and how the monologue relates to the play, and also know the author.

Ithaca asked for the character’s name, and my son realized he had drawn a total blank on it (fortunately it was for a paper form to be filled out in the waiting area). We hopped on the internet and tracked it down just in time. After that, he carried the script to auditions!
