What would you call monologue that isn’t really dramatic or comedic? (like a piece where the character is hopeful or is talking about their day or something) Would you suggest these types of monologues for an audition?
In the classical sense- “comedic” doesn’t have to mean “funny” - it primarily means “not tragic”. Have you read the entire play? That should give you A sense of whether it is a comedy (happy ending) or not.
