My daughter is interested in Montclair after looking at their website. She is a junior, so we are just now starting this journey. I was wondering if it is difficult to get into Montclair… How many students to they accept.
I also read this on their website: “All Theatre & Dance majors must pass yearly juries/portfolio reviews and faculty evaluation for continuation in the programs.”
Does that mean that they could possibly get cut? Has anyone been cut?

No, they do not have a cut program. Yes, you have to do the work and PASS, but that is true anywhere. They do not cut arbitrarily, and as long as you are doing the work, you move on. Yes it is difficult to get in. They say they accept about 3%. There is a lot about Montclair also in the MT school forums if you want to take a look. It is a fabulous program! The facilities were the nicest of all the schools we visited, and the faculty are top notch. The NYC skyline is prominently visible from the campus, yet everything you’d want on a real campus is there. The school has poured a ton of $ into the Arts. My daughter is a junior.
