<p>As a child, I remember receiving a monthly “explore” gift created just for children. The gift was a small item accompanied by educational material from somewhere in the world (a small toy from Africa, wooden shoes from Holland etc.). I’d like to find a gift for my 8 year old niece similar to that idea - a gift that would provide a monthly education. Is anyone aware of anything like that?</p>

<p>We have given gift sponsorships of endangered animals. Save the Manatees sends frequent paper or e-newsletters during the year, along with the stuffed toy manatee and “your manatee lives here” information that comes as part of the initial sponsor information. The Sea Turtle we sponsored had a satellite tracking system so you could follow her travel around the Atlantic.</p>
<p>Kids can be fanatical about Muse magazine and its younger sibling Click. My D2 adored the Highlights “Which Way USA” and “Top Secret Adventures”. Easier to look at them then describe them. </p>
