Moral Resoning

What exactly is a moral reasoning course (one of the general education requirements)? Is this a course from within the Social Studies concentration?

Edit: I apologize for spelling “Reasoning” incorrectly in the title.

Moral Reasoning used to be a category of courses from the Core Curriculum. Since the latter’s replacement by Gen Ed courses, “Moral Reasoning” as a category is now an anachronism. Some of the courses that used to be under Moral Reasoning are now under “Ethical Reasoning.” The courses are generally related to issues and topics such as concepts of justice, equality and liberty, ethics, moral and political philosophy etc.

In any case, it has nothing to do with the Social Studies concentration per se, though I’m sure some professors who teach ER courses also teach courses that would count for Social Studies concentration requirements/electives.

General education courses are those that one must take outside of your major/concentration requirements.
