It appears that Gene Hackman’s wife died from hantavirus (which is typically carried by rodent droppings), and he died a week later of complications from heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease. Unbelievably sad.
Yes, news said she died first. He may have died as much as a week later but he was so badly affected by Alzheimer’s he may not have known. So sad.

OMG - I loved Junior Bridgeman - and he crushed it not just on the court but in the business world (Wendy’s if I recall). Far too young - played on those great 80s teams with Marques Johnson and Sidney Moncrief.
