More celebrity RIPs

Interesting. That’s right! But it just popped up on my computer! Wonder why? :woman_shrugging:

This is so sad. (It’s especially so for me, because my brother died from a fall/brain bleed, as well.) KISS was such a great, fun band.

Even though I am the only one who eats it, I make Susan Stamberg’s Mother’s cranberry relish.

We tried it one year . . . Never again! But I loved hearing her voice. End of an era.

I can’t say I make it every year, but I’m definitely making it again this year!

Oops -

I am not sure if this counts as a celebrity, but it is sad.

A chess grandmaster, Daniel Naroditsky, has died at the age of 29. He was a Stanford alumni, had won the World Junior Championship, and was a highly ranked chess blitz player.

As I slowly lose a tough chess game to a friend of a nephew, this reminds me to keep life in perspective. 29 is way too young to die. Somehow I might have hoped that such an intelligent person who had been successful at least to the point of being both a grandmaster at such a young age and a Stanford alumni could have found his way in life.

At least from what I have seen the cause of death was not released. However, I have not finished watching the Gotham Chess tribute to Naroditsky.

David Ball of Soft Cell, whose delectably sleazy synth-pop arrangement drove that English duo’s 1981 hit “Tainted Love” to the top of the U.K. singles chart, died Wednesday. He was 66.

Soft Cell's David Ball, synth-pop hitmaker behind 'Tainted Love,' dies at 66 (link may be behind a paywall)

That was one of my favorite club songs back in a long-ago day…

Diane Ladd had quite the career of her own including 3 Oscar nominations.

Interestingly, Polly Holliday died 2 months ago; Diane played Flo in the movie – her first Oscar nomination – and joined the TV series when Polly left.

Anyone have a link to the obit for Diane Ladd that doesn’t have a paywall, or require an email address to read?

This should be a gift link

Laura Dern and Diane Ladd were nominated for Oscars in the same movie, Rambling Rose. I believe that was the first time a mother and daughter were nominated for a movie that they both starred in.
