I believe that often suicide does not get reported as suicide. I have wondered if it’s because at least some life insurance policies do not cover suicide.

Y’all can put this in the “things I learned” thread, but that phrase actually is “Bye, Felisha.” The phrase is from the movie “Friday,” and the character referenced spells her name Felisha.

apparently, she died on December 16, but I just saw the notation yesterday. Maybe they just pumped her full of frozen orange juice and kept her on ice for a while.

I wasn’t aware Mike Hanson was actually a local celebrity - loved The Endless Summer.

He was able to live a very long time for someone who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He used that time for serious introspection, and he wasn’t afraid to be honest about how his understanding had changed. He lived long enough to know that the UMC voted in line with his changed views.
