More Chances for Financial Aid?

Would you think that there would be more of a chance for a repeat junior to get financial aid than anyone else? (Besides incomming seniors, that is) I only would assume so because they’d only be covering two years instead of four. What do you think?

The spots for juniors are very rare (nearly non-existent for seniors) unless you have some specific hook or attribute the schools need. It isn’t a matter of how many years funding is needed, it’s whether giving the FA for that spot is warranted versus a student who can fill the slot as a full pay. Or if the slot is better filled by a freshman or sophomore.

Most schools want to give diplomas to students who have done the majority of their academic work on the campus. So do apply, you never know what your chances are unless you do. And ask if you should repeat or be a senior. But recognize that with so few slots available, the odds for any candidate getting in for junior or senior year are low and get even lower if the candidate needs FA.
