"More chances to register without late fees because one point matters"

Anyone else’s kid get this email from the ACT?

Talk about amping up anxiety!

I don’t see this as ramping up anxiety at all. It’s a reminder. And on the ACT actually, one additional point composite score can matter.

If your kid is happy with the ACT they have, and have colleges identified that are attainable, then just delete the email…and forget about it.

More anxiety = more $ for the ACT people

My guess is that when SAT introduced the “adversity score” bombshell, ACT registrations increased. When they backed off, so did ACT registrations.

The sad thing is one point can matter. My son retook the ACT and got one extra point which meant an additional $8k in merit aid over 4 years.

Sept. scores just came out. For those who took the Sept. test and weren’t satisfied, it would be nice to be able to register for the October test without a late fee.
D just got her scores, and was happy to have reached her goal–no more testing for her. (She did consider it for about half a second when she got the email.)
One point can make a big $$$ difference when a scholarship threshold is involved.
Maybe registration was low for the Oct. test?? Too early for most juniors, too late for most seniors?
