More evidence that Nutella is addictive

[Columbia University Students Consume 100 Pounds of Nutella a Day: Report | NBC New York](<a href=“Local – NBC New York”>Local – NBC New York)

D was introduced to Nutella last year by some of her friends at college. I’ve never actually tried it. D said it’s good but she doesn’t buy it. For me, Trader Joes Speculoos Cookie Butter is the bomb. I will occasionally eat a spoonful right out of the jar when I’m craving something sweet.

Luckily, I am not a fan. It has very little nutritional value. Basically fat and sugar, they have been sued over advertising. I do agree it is very popular with the college students even ones who usually eat healthily.

I think I’m the only person I know who hates Nutella. Friends look at me like I have two heads when I tell them.

But then again, I hate chocolate too.

The one time I had it because mom wanted to try it and surprisingly liked it despite the fact we both don’t have much of a sweet tooth.

I didn’t care for it…it was like eating concentrated hazelnut syrup. Even when I only spread a dab of it on toast…it was way too sweet.

We have our first jar of Nutella at our house now. I like it… but it seems just one step away from chocolate icing.

I don’t think it’s even one whole step from chocolate icing.

Have never tried it.

Not that special IMO- tasted almost like watery chocolate icing?

NUTELLLLLAAAAAA!!! It’s the best on a warm croissant! I was introduced in Paris, and have been entranced ever since. Hello. My name is cromette, and I have a problem.

Yummy. I have to be very careful with it!

I am a preschool teacher of two and three year olds. The kids bring their lunch every day. One little girl whose mother is obsessed with the child’s diet (kid is skinny/ doesn’t like to eat a lot of foods…not unusual for 3 yr. old) sends in her lunchbox every day…a Nutella sandwich! The kid calls it “my chocolate sandwich”. That’s a great way to teach your kid healthy eating!

In Europe, it’s always sold in glass jars - not sure why we get plastic in the US.

I try not to eat it often as well…very sticky sweet, but I like the flavor. My daughter loves it and says that if it were on the menu at her school, they would go through similar amounts.

Turn away if this sounds disgusting, but I occasionally make Nutella wontons: Place a small teaspoon of Nutella in the center of a wonton wrapper, fold in half to form a triangle and seal on all sides. Fry in oil on both sides until golden - about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar. My D and her friends go crazy over them - warm and gooey inside with a crispy outside. They must be consumed right away.

I only like it on hot or warm breads I grew up with it and considered it in the same category as marshmellow fluff.

Cookie butter, Aquamarinesea, at Trader Joes’? Gotta try it. Onto my list it goes.

Gourmetmom, THAAAAANNNKS. Now I know exactly how I will be breaking my low carb diet.

I have a Nutella problem. I can eat it right out of the jar. I don’t care if it’s healthy or not–we don’t keep a lot of sweets in the house so it is one of my only indulgences. I used to give my kids PB & Nutella sandwiches in their lunches. And in Rome they have street vendors that serve giant warm waffles slathered with the stuff…yum.

There are far worse things in the typical American kid’s diet than Nutella.

My DD and I LOOOVE it on pretzels!!

My D was a very picky eater when she was young - the skinniest kid in the class and she hated most complex flavors. Nutella was a good way to get her to eat whole wheat bread…she grew up to be a very healthy eater. It’s not the worst thing in the world to give your kids, as long as they have a good range of foods in their diet. Everything in moderation, right?

I ran in a 15k race a couple of weeks ago and at check in we were given goody bags that contained big jars of Lotus Bakeries Biscoff Spread. At first I thought it was peanut butter in the jars, but turns out the Biscoff Spread is a sweet spread sorta like Nutella. I got both crunchy and smooth jars of the stuff. I like it on toast. If you like Nutella, try the Biscoff Spread…you’ll like it! The product is made in Belgium and is available in grocery stores like Publix…Publix was one of the main sponsors of the Gasparilla Run that had about 25,000 runners participating.

Yes the Biscoff spread is awesome. It’s cookie spread in a jar! It tastes just like the Biscoff cookies. I don’t think it’s healthy though…But it’s really yummy.:)
