i was recently told by a teacher that i have a good build for crew.
does vassar have a team? I would like to keep pursuing sports in college but i lack talent in the sports 'i’ve tried so far. I have relatively good endurance and strength (not super great coordination) and like working on a team. Plus it would make me athletically self actualized to do a college varsity sport, as i am interested, but not rele gifted. Vassar seems more and more a great place so I wanted to see if it was offered.

i’ve heard a lot about a big drug scene. I’m rele not into that or drinking, so I was wondering what the social scene had for me.

I’m asking about the train thing primarily to know how easy it would be for us to visit each other if we’re still together then which seems as likely as somthing like that could be, so i’m not rele looking for a big dating scene, which is something i’ve heard vassar doesn’t have.

i’m looking for a college where i can really shine, people aren’t motivated solely by grades, their are great professors who make a personal connection, and strong programs in the aforementioned areas-is vassar for me?

i won’t be a student at vassar until this fall but i have answers for a few questions…

the train station is about a ten minute drive, maybe a bit less. it costs $5 to get there by cab so you definitely need a car.
i’m interested in doing crew as well, and i know there’s a varsity and novice team so there’s room for inexperienced people.
some of the things you mentioned that you wanted (people who aren’t super competetive with each other about grades, etc.) were reasons i choose vassar so i think it would be a good place for you. hope that helps

by the way, what is considered a good build for crew?

my choir teacher said his daughter rowed and she like all the girls was tall (like most of them around 5 8) and he described the girls as being “big, tall girls” meaning, i’m pretty sure, not fat, just not like a slender, runner type build
it was a while ago he said that, so i may not be giving you the best information

good luck
thanks for answering
