More scholarships for deciding early?

I realize it depends on the college I choose, but is there a significant benefit as far as receiving scholarships from my college if I make my decision early in the school year? Say, before Christmas? The reason I am asking is I am applying to Clemson with hopes of making it into the Clemson Scholars Program; I won’t know if I do earn that until March 2014. I would enter college in the fall of 2014. Would I be hurting my chances of scholarships from my next two choices if I don’t decide until after I hear from Clemson?

Thanks!

You have until May 1 to decide upon which college to go to. I don’t believe scholarships are usually awarded due to how early you put your deposit in.

Some colleges award scholarships to those who apply early but some scholarship awards don’t even go out until April. My son didn’t hear from his last scholarship application until almost June. There really is no incentive to deposit early as you have until May 1 to decide.

Thank you!! :)
