More than 3 SATIIs

Hi,
I was unable to find an answer to this question through a search. At MIT, if one takes more than 3 SATII’s (let’s say 5) and gets 3 good scores (between 750-800) and gets 2 low scores (actually low, like below 50th %-ile) will MIT consider only the 3 best? (I know that they require only 3, but this is a different question). Is this true even if 2 of the top 3 are the maths? (I know that they allow 2 of the 3 to be filled by maths and the other must be a science). I have two really low humanities SATII’s and I would really prefer if MIT didn’t look at them lol. The SATII FAQ is ambiguous in answering there questions…
Thanks to all who take the time to read this/reply.

They will be on the score report that College Board sends to MIT, but only your top three scores will be considered. They always say they will “use the scores that put you in the best light”, and that would apply in this case.

I’m pretty sure they won’t accept two maths. From what I’ve seen two sciences are okay, but not maths. It’s (1) a math subject, (2) science, and (3) your choice. I guess it would be bending the rules, but it doesn’t matter, the admissions committee will do what they see as right. Most colleges will not accept two SAT math subjects.

They will accept the second math as your 3rd SAT II. Ben has said so on multiple occasions, if you need me to dig up the reference I can do so.

Oops sorry.

what if you have 3 SATIIs higher than your IIC (3*760 and IIC is 740)? will they only consider 2 of my 760s in favor of the IIC?

Ben has said that they look at a 750 as essentially equivalent to an 800, so I would say your scores are perfectly fine. Remember that it’s not a score contest: after some point, you’ve shown you can handle the work.

750 SHOULD Be a perfect! lol, the highest score I had on my SATs is a 690 and I had the highest scores from my SCHOOL!!! (I’m from PR and oh well… in public schools is really hard for students to recieve even a 600 on a SAT test) ;)
