Hello! Please post here when your student hears news from the Morrill Scholars program. I know notifications won’t be out until after OSU acceptances (earliest December 8), but I have one who has applied and is waiting on pins and needles. Thank you!

I received the Excellence today, 1/5 and applied to the university around 10/18. Beyond excited and blessed, best of luck everyone!

Hi! The email I got wasn’t that I got Distinction, but that I was being considered for it.
Nobody gets automatic Distinction to my knowledge, because I got invited for Distinction weekend and interviews that happen during that time. If you pass the interview you get distinction, so it’s being narrowed down more.
In short, the email I got said I was awarded the Excellence, and in the same email it said I was being considered for Distinction. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask more questions!

To all who got emails about Morrill scholars, is you FAFSA application submitted and approved? Is it even required for this?

Daughter, OOS, received the Morill Scholars email. FAFSA is not submitted. It is not required for scholarship consideration since it is not a “need-based” scholarship.

Okay, thanks. I’m getting so concerned cause I applied the same time the other person that go the scholarship did and haven’t heard back. But I’m gonna keep my hopes up by saying they started with in state people and now are going to out of state lol

Thank you - was that Friday 1/12? I’ve always heard that Morrill releases every other week and it seems initial award emails went out Friday 1/5. Just trying to figure it out.
