How adorable is the little girl in the new Suburu commercial? She has such a beautiful old fashioned “little girl” look, not a miniature 20 year old like so many kids seem to be portrayed these days.

Actually the whole commercial is great, it really captures the feeling of that first day of school. In the blink of an eye they will be on CC and the dad will be sending her off to college.

Maybe they can make a commercial 15 years from now, where she is getting into the very car the dad was driving today and heading off to college with it. They can do a flashback to the old commercial and some catchy tag line that someone more creative than me can come up with.

Cute dress, little sweater, sweet barrette in her hair.

I like the commercial when the daughter is asking to use the car and through the dad’s eyes she is a squirmy 5 year old.
When he hands her the keys she is a teen.

Darn those car commercials, got some dust in my eyes.

The little girl/Dad commercial is so sweet but as a mother of two boys I love the Subaru commercial with the spastic Dad throwing the baseball in the front yard with his son.
DH and I laugh every time we see it.

Gotta agree … both in our house noted independently how “sweet” that commercial is. Led to shopping for a 2nd Subie! Great commercial! Better cars!!

Sadly but understandably, NOT made in Detroit by American union drunks and druggies. Dumped a GM vehicle that was pure junk, and only a couple years old. Still, I was crushed that the mfg of the Chevy Volt has been “suspended.” This the car America “demanded.” lol Anyone buying GM as a long-term hold?

I love the one with the mother driving the three kids to hockey practice – the boys are so sweet asleep. But maybe it is just the Pogues.

And whistle pig – if you want a pick-up truck for work (not driving around with a bed liner, never hauling anything bigger than a bag of bird seed, cause it might get the truck dirty), get a Detroit made truck. Our’s hauls literal **** ever day and it a 92, with over 300,000 miles on it and is still going strong.

Ford is making some GREAT vehicles absent a dime of our money beyond what people pay for the product.

Chevy and the GM junk ain’t what it used to be. Glad you might have got a non-lemon! Don’t sweat it though. Our opinions will soon be resolved either by precisely what Ford’s figured out … and ultimately the market. Can only get away with govt subsidization for so long. GM will get its act together … or it will be sharing history with its Volt. And as we saw, the govt. couldn’t “give” them away. Literally. The marketplace WILL rule … until like they’re leading us toward in medical care … mediocrity is all that remains.

Love all the Subaru ads, they are extremely accomplished at finding a way to touch people in their every day lives and getting you to remember what is advertised!

Hey Kat I have a 2003 Outback too. I bought it used with 91000 miles on it and it has features I didn’t even know existed-- like heated windshield wipers. My daughter has a 96 Legacy passed down from a relative and it’s still going strong.

Not sure why it’s particularly sad they aren’t made in Detroit. Subaru does actually manufacture the Outback, Legacy and Tribeca, as well as the Toyota Camry in Lafayette.

More American made than my 10 year old Focus that was Hencho En Mexico.

I love that commercial, I used to dress my girls like that and they both had the same hairstyle at that age. It is great to see loving, involved fathers.

Just wondering if the ads actually influence your choice of vehicles. It never has for me, tho I agree Suburu has many very poignant ones. For the first time I’m aware of in our 26.5 years together H mentioned the Cadillac ads are making him want a Caddie. I’m surprised. Have never been moved to buy a vehicle based on TV ads.
