<p>I’m stuck on whether I should directly send my ACT scores to colleges. I got a 2320 (720 CR, 800 M, 800 W/12 E) on the SAT and a 33 (35 E, 36 M, 30 R, 32 S, 10 W) on the ACT. I am going to send my SAT score to every college, but I am unsure as to whether I should send my ACT score. I know that the Critical Reading and Math are the most heavily weighted on the SAT, but I haven’t heard much about the ACT. On Naviance, the colleges list the ranges of scores for the Critical Reading/Math for the SAT and the English/Math for the ACT. Would that make the English and Math sections more important on the ACT? If so, would it be worth it to send my ACT scores to a few colleges, because a 35 E/36 M is better than a 720 CR/800 M? I’m trying to be as frugal as possible and I don’t know if it would be worth it to send my ACT score to a few of them.</p>
<p>A number of colleges consider the math and English sections of the ACT the more important. Two I am aware of, Rose-Hulman and Gtech, consider only the math and English and ignore composite, reading and science (yes, those engineering colleges ignore the science score).</p>
<p>If the college requires you to send all scores, inlcuding all SATs and ACTs, you really do not have an option except to send both. For other colleges, you probably don’t really need both because of high SAT but sending both won’t hurt.</p>
