Why is Psychology so popular?

 1. Psychology is usually one of the top 3 most popular majors at colleges.

It’s Michigan’s strongest program.

it’s also easier than underwater basket weaving

Having put my toe in the water, I would like to say that I find certain posters’ repetitive stomping on the Asian studies etc. point tiresome, unamusing, uncivil, vicious, and unbecoming.

context, my friend. Context.

The context and history of such comments is what makes them tiresome, unamusing, uncivil, vicious and unbecoming. The person at whom they are mainly directed has pointed this out and asked for some civility and relief, but to no avail. I am disappointed that some Michigan students and applicants can be so thoughtless. I would not hire such people. I expect others have the same reaction.

And then continue to post the same type of thoughtless threads? Sure…

As for you, your posts on this and other topics are routinely uncivil. You can only hope prospective employers haven’t read them or don’t know who you are.

bearcats, your post reminds me of an article I read a while back. :p

what kind of jobs do UMich psychology majors end up getting? I heard that to become a psychologist you have to go to gradate school, and i imagine the majority wouldn’t want to go to graduate school.

Quite a few psych majors I know are pre-med.

What kind of jobs do General Studies majors get?

What about the non pre-med Psych majors?
