most popular sat ii tests

does anyone know of a list of sat ii subject tests by number of students who typically take them?

I would say the match IIC is the most popular since most competive schools reccommend or require it.

what about math IC?

Yes, that’s right.

Math 1C-- 2 C is only taken by the brightest math students, although I’ve heard that it’s easier to do well on it because the curve is better.

Math 1C is not the most popular. Math 1C is looked down upon by some schools as not good enough to prove math skills, and some don’t even accept it, such as all the UC’s.

Page 14. Math IC is the most popular by far.

PLEASE provide backing for your reason, the curve on math iic is not nicer, actually I would say taking the IC, because of its relatively easier material is much easier to conquer. #2 keep in mind the score matters not the test. Thirdly my friend is going to U PENN and had a 700 after getting 5 wrong on the math iic which is a very difficult curve

thanks for the info ohnoes

Math IIC has absolutely no curve. If you miss one, you can kiss your 800 goodbye.

What? Unless something has drastically changed since I took the IIC two years ago, you can miss up to 5-6 and still get a 800!

You guys are thinking of the IC that has no curve, lol. You can miss 5 and get an 800 on IIC.

IC might be most popular with ill-informed people, people who are not wishing to attend competitive schools, etc. New rules with the UC’s will no longer take the IC for the class of 2006, so the stats you are looking at could easily have changed with new requirements. Figuring you are on CollegeConfidential, you are trying to be competitive, and would want to know the ones most taken by competitive people, which would be IIC.
