Most valuable major?

Hi!

I’m trying to get into law school, focusing on either environmental law or public defense. My dream is to attain a JD/MBA. Obviously, plans change, as I’m only a senior in high school now, and I don’t want to choose my major preparing for law or business school only to realize that I don’t want to go.

My basic interests as far as majors go are: Economics, Environmental Science, Political Science, Biology, Psychology/Sociology.

The intimidating thing for me is that I’m not fantastic with math. I work hard; but if it doesn’t come naturally to me, will I survive as an Economics major? Which of these majors (or feel free to suggest another!) will be most valuable for me for my undergraduate work?

There’s very little math involved in the econ major, unless you’re planning on going the quantitative route. Just some basic stats and applications should be fine.

Generally: the B.S. will be more valuable than the B.A. If you’re thinking about going into IP/Patent law (see law school forum), biology could be useful if you want to go into biotech law or business. Econ is a versatile and safe bet. The fact that there’s typically limited amounts of math is reflected in the fact that econ is often awarded as a B.A.

Anyway, you never know what you’ll like once you take an actual class.

Go to med school, thats the most fckin valuable major.
