Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. It’s a pretty good day so far. Younger D made a framed photo collage with pictures of her and I together, H gave me a lovely ring (nothing high end, just pretty and much my style), and S surprised me with beautiful flowers. We’re now headed to a location secret from me-I’ve been told salmon is involved. Older D is working-we’ll stop in and say hello later. Then H and I will go for a drive in this nice weather.
My son came home from college this past week and D came home for the weekend. She planted flowers outside for me yesterday so that was nice. They all went fishing this morning with a friend and were extremely tired so I made a meal which was no big deal, but H is doing cleanup. I was just happy we were all together for the weekend. D wants to “shop” my pantry and linen closet before she leaves so going to help her do that.
Thought of this thread when I found this. Video of two brothers trying to take a picture for mother’s day. I am crying from laughter. This is EXACTLY what happened when my sister and I tried to take a picture for father’s day.
Costco roses, oil of Olay with spf , nasonex, Vit D capsules and card. H went shopping at Costco and since I use and need everything I’m glad he notices. Listened to music at local winery with S & H. H will grill Costco steaks in a bit. Phone call to mom was nice and I’m glad I didn’t say anything that upset her:).
I got chocolate covered strawberries from hubby. Both kids texted, and I actually spoke to one. I spent the entire day cleaning, my choice, and my husband had to help without complaining… That was the activity I picked for us to do. I am trying to get the place ready for kids to come home from college and junk it up again.

It was a peaceful day. I had no expectations and am thankful for what I have. I went to trader joes which was a busy flower market and bought beautiful roses. When I came home daughter gave me a card with a thoughtful message. My favorite things are flowers and cards. I made a simple lunch and had a relaxing afternoon. This heat has taken my appetite away. I have enjoyed your stories and maybe next year I will plan a mothers day lunch with friends. (wish we could have had a cc mothers day lunch get together) Plan on meeting my mother next week for lunch which will be nice. As my only daughter is in college I need to focus more on myself and discover my interests. This is new for me after having my life focused on only her all these years. Should be an interesting journey.
My girls sent flowers, which was very nice. I picked them up.
I got to talk at my mom. She said hello and listened to me describe stuff that she really can’t follow anymore.
D texted me at 2:30am, so I’d read her text first thing in the morning. She was right and it made me smile. Also got phone calls from both her and S–nice long chats! Yea!
