My son is somewhat on the lazy side and a camp which can get him motivated is what i need.
Any ideas? 15 yr old.

Leave the poor kid alone. Blame the public education system, it’s **** anyway.

Boot camp may or may not be the right way to go, but for a 15 year-old, there are summer programs that can be just as, if not more, inspiring without the other connotations and effects of a boot camp. If he’s a rising sophomore, I’d look at the CTY, TIP, and SIG programs. Though the prices are pretty steep, there’s significant financial aid to be found, and it’s certainly an inspirational experience, especially if he hasn’t lived away from home.

Ok. I think Boot Camp would be taking it too far if he’s just lazy (Boot Camp is really for those who need to shape up behaviorally), but just get him involved in a program that he would enjoy. He’s only 15 so it doesn’t have to be anything rigorous.

Other people have recommended [Academic Summer Camps | Teen Summer Camps](http://www.supercamp.com) I have never sent my child, but I’ve seen it mentioned often enough that I thought I’d mention it again. Also the explo camps seem to motivate students as well.

Explo is more on the recreational side so it would be a good program to have fun and learn quirky things. I heard they have carnivals.

Sorry to bump this thread, but this information and directory list of teen boot camps in each state might still be useful to anyone looking for boot camps for teens. They have online resource for anything you need to know about teen boot camps, teenage problems and the things you can do to counteract it.
