Do you mind sharing what it was about the visit that cemented it as her top choice? Where else was she looking? We are headed to campus for admitted students day this weekend and, although perfect in almost every other aspect, MHC’s social scene is very quiet for D24.

I ended up hearing back from the financial aid office and they said the NPC isn’t always accurate. Definitely a bummer that it was off by 20k but makes it easy to cross the school off the list now as we certainly can’t afford it.

That’s great! They keep rejecting every attempt we have made. Struggling tonfigure out how to help dd go to her dream cillege. She may have to reject

That breaks my heart! Granted, we have pretty severe circumstances because her dad became disabled last year and we have lost his income. I wish I had a suggestion for you.
This probably won’t help much, but would she consider being an RA (or JA - whatever they call it) next year and going forward? That would cover room and board and they can still get another job, too. Wouldn’t help for this year, but something to consider.
Still waiting to hear back on ours. I was told late tomorrow🤞

She loved it! It was the first place she visited where she actually felt like this was where she was meant to go vs just a place she liked. Did an appeal on FA due to higher than expected medical bills, so waiting on that.

Sorry to hear of your circumstances, but glad they worked with you. We asked and they say that being an RA does not cover room and board at MHC. She had hoped to do that.

Same deal for us. The Financial Aid folks were very nice to work with, but they couldn’t manage anything comparable to other schools of a similar caliber. My daughter really had her heart set on MHC, but I have two more kids in the pipeline

That’s great! My daughter got her roommate assignment last week, I think. She doesn’t say much - haha. I know she is in the First Year Experience Living-Learning Community, so that’s McGregor Hall – the farthest one, but by upper lake so that’s nice.
