Mountain School

Ok it does not seem like there is a lot of info on The Mountain School on here. http://www.mountainschool.org
can anyone provide some insight on a) the experience they had there or have heard of there b) how hard it is to get it and/or c) any other programs you would recommend that are similar to the Mountain School. (not a whole 4 years but rather semester or year long schools. Also our programs like the Mountain School beneficial for your college app? Thank you.

My cousin did it (from out of Winsor, one of the very rigorous Boston day schools). Went on to an Ivy for undergrad, med school, is now a surgeon. And I know she loved her time there and for her it was a great release from the pressure cooker at Winsor. Years ago there was an Andover-Exeter program that I did in Washington, D.C. Although it’s no longer exclusive to those two schools, something like that still exists. There’s also the Island School in the Bahamas & Rocky Mountain School semester in Colorado. From my memory, Taft had a good page on all of these semester away programs, you might try searching their site.

A friend of mine went to the Mountain School years ago. He was at Milton at the time. He had a fabulous experience.
