Mountainview vs CIW at Binghamton?

I’m trying to decide between the two. Can anyone share their pros and cons along with specifics of their personal experiences?

CIW caught my eye with the learning communities and apparently being more social. But I heard it’s a party community with weed and is generally less up-to-date.

As opposed to Mountainview, which has a lot of things I’m interested in; though, the learning communities aren’t my style.

My daughter is interested in Mountain View. Romance languages learning community. We’ve read that it is on the calm side, nice facility, large common space in the suites, near a good dining hall. She liked the recreational soccer field partway down the hill.

@Lindagaf may have or may be able to get some insight?? Her student attended Bing at least…

I’d choose the learning community you favor. Living in an outdated dorm is par for the course at the vast majority of colleges. My son would have lived in CIW, but the pandemic came along. I think Mt. View is a bit more isolated from campus, but I can’t really remember.

It is, but I dont mind that as the nature reserve interests me, and the walk up the hill doesn’t seem that bad compared to what I’m used.
