What did all of you do the first night after moving in? I know there will be stuff for the students to do. My parents were wondering if the food halls will be open or are we going to have to go out to dinner.

some food places are open on campus…check the Dining page of the USC website.
Saturday night is the event they call First Night Carolina which is lots of fun.Students only,it starts at the Russell House.Last year it involved buses, a trip to Williams-Brice stadium, fireworks, live music, cheerleaders, free food ,and I cant remember what else.H and I saw the fireworks from our car on a road somewhere near the stadium.
Theres fun things to do all week long, including more live music, a hypnotist (Same guy as last year,S says hes hilarious)a comedian, more free food, etc

our dd did the stadium thing said it was alot of fun - it is great! she is soooo happy. busy today straightening out the car thing (left her tag for garage at home so had to get another, and still has to get some kind of pass to park on campus - any idea where she gets that? she thinks it is at a different place than for the parking garage. Thanks!

The sticker for the garage pass allows access to certain lots as well. The brochure they sent with all of the parking info will tell her which lots she can use. You might be able to find that info on line , too. I know my d only had to get one permit last year.
Good luck!
