Move-In Problem >_<

Well, my mom is coming with me that day and hotels that are close are full, can she stay in my room for one night (September 18th)? (I’m a guy.)

Oh my! That is a predicament! How about the hotels in Woodland, Dixon, or West Sacramento? Getting to Woodland is easy, @10 miles north on the 113. I’ve driven there many times so I know how easy it is. Main Street is the main exit and there are lots of businesses located on that street (probably hotels too). I’m sorry but I don’t know the school’s policy for sleepovers (including family members).

But the thing is, we are flying by plane, so we don’t have a car. >_<

It’s probably better for your mom to stay home. She can fly 1,2,3 weeks later to visit you and bring other things after you figure out what you need from home.

But we already bought the tickets, should I get a refund and just use it as my winter break ticket?

You’re mom could stay there. Visitors are allowed to stay unless your roommate is an a-hole and refuses to allow it.

^That would NOT be a good way to start a good roomate relationship. I actually knew a girl like that who was so selfish and inflexible. NOBODY wanted to room with her :/

My roommate says he’s fine with it. I’m still a bit… eh… on the idea though.

speaking as a mom…with a son your age…i wouldn’t do it. too awkward!

she can stay in mine

Try hotels on the other side of the freeway or in Woodland. Yolobus is free for students and like 2 dollars for adults, and you’ll get to woodland in around 20 minutes.

It appears that Motel 6 in South Davis has available rooms for the 18th.

Address:
4835 Chiles Rd
I-80 At Mace Blvd
Davis, CA, 95616
Phone: (530) 753-3777

It’s less than 4 miles away from campus, and the Unitrans bus P commutes from there to downtown (easy walking distance from campus).

If they have available rooms, you might be able to find others. I know 4 miles isn’t great, but it’s better than going to Woodland or Sacramento.
