move or stay during high school?

I’ll be a junior this fall. Currently, i attend high school in eastern pa. My dad recently got a new job in iowa. As a family, we decided that it would be best for me not to move in the middle of high school so as to not disrupt academics and ec’s so only my dad has moved out to ia.

i’m currently ranked 7 out 700 students (expected to rise some) in my pa school and am active in a number of ec’s. However i’m beginning to have 2nd thoughts about my decision to stay in pa and am contemplating a move for senior year for one main reason. For colleges, would it better to apply from a small iowa high school (class size 85, no ap’s offered, no real opportunities for leadership that i would have in senior year at my pa school) instead of my current, larger school in eastern pa? Or is location not too relevant? I aspire to go to a combined ba/md program; my top aims are tentatively: northwestern, umkc, penn/jeff, brown plme (not likely). Please state your thoughts/suggestions.

I don’t think that you should move for the sake of impressing schools. If you’re fond of your current school, I recommend that you stay there.
