Movie guilty pleasure

atomom, NPR just yesterday reran a 2004 interview with Paul Reubens talking about PeeWee. I loved that show and movie.

Office Space–yes!!! It’s quoted in my house just about every day. Also agree on first Pirates of the C and Ferris Beuhler.

Goofy slapstick like “What’s Up Doc?”

But atomom, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure IS a ground-breaking, meaningful work of art.

Our family relishes such cinematic gems as Airplane and Anchorman.

All of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies… but the first one is the best.

Rat Race (truly tasteless but fun)

All the Harry Potter movies

The Towering Inferno. But now I have to blink out 9/11 first. :(

Movies that make me laugh every time: Caddyshack (love the dancing gopher), Dodgeball, Happy Gilmore. And most movies with Will Farrell.

My son and I loved Drag Me to Hell - so campy.

Hunt for Red October

Starship Troopers
You’ve Got Mail
Any Jane Austen (BBC versions)

Blazing Saddles for the males in my house.

Galaxy Quest is great.

We just came back from seeing Red - the plot is full of holes, but we enjoyed it enormously.

Galaxy Quest–Rat Race–I’m chuckling just thinking about those movies!

May I add Rocky Horror Picture Show, School of Rock and Freaky Friday (Lindsay Lohan/Jamie Lee Curtis)?

Late October, every year I have to watch Sleepy Hollow. I’m not a fan of horror movies, but watching that movie is like seeing the inside of Tim Burton’s head. It’s all about atmosphere.

Twister. Dunstan Checks In. Weird Science.

Most definitely Airplane. :)

Napoleon Dynamite

Love Actually (watch it every year at Christmas)
Sleepless in Seattle
Pretty Woman
Harold & Maude

True Lies: Jamie Lee Curtis doing the strip tease; when Arnold flew the jet right up to a window; when the terrorist ran out of film while doing taping; interrogating of a fake spy.

The Princess Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Birdcage, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
I could watch them everyday!

I also love Napoleon Dynamite, Rat Race and Legally Blonde.

I’ll add in Water Boy (don’t judge me :)) and About A Boy.
