Movies based on classic books

I was looking for the Captain Alatriste movie too (come on…sword play and Viggo…yum!) but alas, according to Internet Movie Database, it sank without a trace in Europe and will probably never be released in the US. That’s not to say you won’t find a copy some day.

The 20 Years After movie is called Return of the Musketeers from 1989. Michael York also played D’Artagnan in La Femme Musketeer, a Hallmark Production from 2004.

A made-for-tv movie of Death of a Salesman starring Dustin Hoffman is really incredible. A play, I know.

The Count of Monte Cristo film was really entertaining. Of course, please keep in mind the plot is …uhh, loosely based on the great book.

^^ That’s true - creative liberties were definitely taken!!

I found a film version of The Woman in White to view, too.
