The Brady Commons renovation is happening in phases, so it’s not closed. As far as I know, films are shown in Jesse Hall, but maybe a couple of students could confirm this. (My student source is not home.)

Oh films are all over the place. No reason to worry!

Yes, some are shown at Jesse. Others are shown at random theatres on campus or in the art school. Some are shown in Brady (under renovation but in stages) or in Memorial. The real gem of Columbia film scene, in my opinion, is the Ragtag–it’s a theatre downtown and shows lots of indie flicks and shares a venue with a hip bakery with lots of gourmet treats.

There’s always a student film festival and a Columbia film festival (called True/False) that attract lots of attention from typical small film festival types. Enjoy!

Films are mostly played in Jesse-Wrench Auditorium, or whatever the hell it’s called. Not Jesse Hall. It’s the otherside of the Memorial Union building where they show the Friday/Saturday movies. The Wednesday movies are mostly in there as well, but some were in the auditorium off of the library.

Ragtag is awesome (tickets are reasonable prices too), and then there is the Hollywood Theater with all your blockbuster movies.

There tends to be weekly movies in Jesse-Wrench auditorium (which is the south end of Memorial Union, not the student union). Through my experience, the Friday movies are ones that are in between theater and DVD (so expect movies that came out during the winter-early summer in the fall semester) and they are a $1 ticket. Wednesday movies tend to be a little more artsy or documentaries and are free.
