hello. i have been studying sat for about 2 years. i am going to be taking the sat for the first time in may and i want to get over 2300. i have been on the kaplan program for about 2 years but i have never been able to improve my score past 2190. I have the barrons and blue book at home. i have taken 7 tests of the 10 blue book and none of the barrons. i found the barrons to be hard and i was under the impression they would not really prepare me because of the degree of difficulty. I think that my problem is that i dont take 4 hour tests when i do the sat tests. i usually split them into two two hour blocks. My lowest scores are in reading i miss about 7-8 usually in that section. how can i improve? thank you.

Just my opinion–but you might want to look at Barron’s now, after all.
Barron’s does tend to be harder than a typical student needs to prepare for the SAT.
You are not in that same situation any more.
Take a look at the difficulty level of the questions you are missing.
If you are missing the easy-to-medium questions, and getting most of the hard questions, then you probably just need to focus a little more when the questions seem easy.
On the other hand, it is probable that you are mainly missing hard questions at this point. In that case the difficulty level of Barron’s is exactly what you want to prepare for the most challenging questions. Just don’t get discouraged by the book.
