Happykid will have hand surgery on 7/24, and can’t lift anything for four weeks. She needs to get everything out of her current apartment by midnight on 7/31, and can’t move into the new one until 8/4. Her current landlord has an AirBnB where she can sleep and stash her things between those dates, but she’s going to definitely need help on 8/4 to get the loot into the new place. No one from her own department will be around at those dates, so we need referrals.
Thanking the hive mind in advance.
I recently used Hire A Helper to assist with a move. H and I had rented a truck to help clear out a room at my parents’ assisted living facility and also a storage unit, and had some very heavy furniture the two of us (I am small and not very strong) couldn’t handle.
There was a two hour minimum, but the guys they sent were great. They worked very carefully and were hard workers. Hire A Helper came up just now when I searched for “moving help knoxville tn”
We drove the truck 9+ hours home, and I hired additional help to unload the truck the following day. I used a different company (did an internet search and compared prices/reviews) and again had to pay a 2 hour minimum, but again, the guys who came were great, careful, and strong. They moved some existing furniture around first before unloading the truck, and assembled some furniture that required it.
I would recommend an internet search and read the reviews. I gave both sets of our helpers good reviews.
I went to my kid’s place, and packed all the boxes…and labeled them. Then I hired 2 Men and a Truck to actually move the stuff. They were terrific…and have franchises or whatever all over the place.
Contact small local moving company, they normally can help.
One of her friends has used a local mover, but that person might not be available on the date(s) needed. Thanks for the suggestions.
