I live in Ohio but I would like to go to college in Florida and work at Walt Disney World. I will probably live in Florida after I graduate, too. Here are my questions:

What is the residency policy to get in-state tuition at University of South Florida or University of Tampa?

Is state residency required to drive a car and work in Florida for an extended period of time?

What else should I know about moving to another state for college?

Thanks for any information you can give!

Residency is not required to drive or work in Fla. For tuition purposes, you must reside in Florida for 12 months prior to requesting in state tuition. You might want to look at UCF in Orlando also. Many students work at Disney from UCF.

Thank you so much!

When I moved to California I was required to file for residency after 10 days of being here. It seems pretty quick to me but I did it any ways and it really is the Law. Florida is probably the same or pretty close. That being said you do not need to be a resident to drive around in a car but many employers DO require a resident drivers license to obtain a job. This is not very difficult at all just takes a bit of time to transfer over your drivers license from Ohio. Letters of residency can be pretty easy sometimes especially if you have family in Florida already ;-). Hope this helps.
