Moving to another state and dont want to transfer my credits, help!

Im moving from California community college to a Texas community college and I really dont want to transfer my transcripts. I’ve really slacked off this year and delt with personal things so my grades weren’t my top priority. Is there a way to transfer without having them see my grades. I’ll be starting my major in Buisness when I get to Texas but I’d much rather start fresh? Any tips?

You have to provide official copies of all of your transcripts. Period. This is a required part of the admissions process.

Whether any of the courses do transfer, and as what, is up to the place that admits you. Often the only courses that are applied toward a new degree program are those where the student has earned at least a C, and in many cases, the original grades aren’t included in the new institution’s GPA at all.

Do I have the opportunity to retake the two classes I got Cs in? They were just general ed classes

The transcripts follow you for life.i can only speak for UCs but you cannot retake C grades, only C- or lower.

And FYI, when you finally transfer to a 4-year, your GPA will revert to zero.

Each place sets its own policy about retaking classes, so you will need to ask the place where you end up about that.

But to be perfectly honest, if they were gen eds that aren’t pre-reqs for anything, a C is good enough.
