Moving to Phoenix, Begin job search now?

Next year I will be a college freshman (hopefully attending Arizona State University). In a couple weeks I will be going to Phoenix on vacation and would like to start planning what life will be like there. Is there any way potential employers would interview me while I’m on vacation and hold on to my resume for when I officially move there next summer? I’ve never moved out of state so I have no idea how to go about getting a job in another state! Any advice on finding a job quickly after moving there or what I can do now to begin a job search is greatly appreciated. I will be looking for a minimum wage job, at a coffee shop, mall, restaurant, etc.

@aaberge34 Some places allow for phone interviews if the need to be physically present isn’t urgent.

However I’d probably wait on the application process. You won’t be working there for another year, and you may or may not want some time to adjust to college life. I certainly needed it!

Those types of jobs generally won’t hire if you aren’t ready to start within two weeks. I’d wait until you move there to look for jobs.
