DS and roommate are moving from one apartment to another within San Francisco. Any recommendations for an inexpensive mover for their furniture and things? I suggested renting a U-Haul but there didn’t seem to be much enthusiasm for that idea.
The rates charged by movers should be very similar since I think the hourly rates are regulated. So be cautious about “discount” movers. The only time we tried that, a bunch of computer equipment went “missing”.

I was personally impressed how they carried furniture, boxes, etc. up 3 flights of stairs in the North Beach/Russian Hill area without damaging walls, doorways, railings, or the furniture itself. I was there witnessing the move-in and personally inspected the stairwell and interior walls, etc…
