MS in Accounting Degree Help!

Hi, I graduated suny albany with a degree in marketing/management.
I have been out of school for a year and a half and have not found any relevant work with this degree.
I recently have started looking into NY schools that have a Master of Science in Accounting degree for graduates who studied something other than accounting.
I do not know if this is a good idea or not but feel I need to do something soon with my life.
If anyone has good suggestion what they think please advise.
Note:I also live in Dutchess County NY and I think its making this that much harder.
Any schools/suggestions?

It is a good idea if you think a career in accounting is a fit for you. If you don’t know or are just guessing, then you ought to spend some time looking into what the career is like, talking to accountants, etc. so that you understand the career path and work environment. There is plenty of work for accountants and job prospects are said to be good, but none of that matters if it isn’t a fit for you. Conversely if it IS something you can picture yourself doing then you are young enough to have a full career ahead of you (unlike, say, someone thinking about this as a mid-career switch).
