MS in Chemistry to MS in Petroleum Engineering???

<p>I am currently in the PhD program for chemistry. I have 2 more semesters to complete in order to apply for my MS in Chemistry. I want to leave PhD school to get a non-thesis MS petroleum engineering. Will this be possible? Below are my current statistics.</p>

<p>Undergraduate
-GPA = 3.75
-BS in Chemistry</p>

<p>Graduate
-GPA = 3.50
-PhD program in Chemistry (leave with a MS)</p>

<p>GRE
-Writing = 4.5
-Math = 159
-Verbal = 144</p>

<p>Yes, it is possible, but the competition has gotten fierce in the last two years. My adviser up at UAF told me that they had about 70 applicants this year (up from 20 the year before) and only accepted 17 (with 7 being offered funding).</p>
