MS Statistics

Hi,

I’m interested in applying for the MS Statistics programme at University of Washington (together with a number of American universities). Previously, I did a BSc Maths and Statistics programme in an English university.

I’ve been looking up on information.
[Department of Statistics Home](http://www.stat.washington.edu/graduate/programs/masters/)

Can I ask - how long is the program? It is never explicitly spelt out.

I am interested in a taught master as I’ve been at work for about a year now, and am more focused in the practical side of statistics.

many thanks,

I’ve heard MS degrees are 2 years long usually but I know there is a 4 + 1 BS & MS program in Computer Science in which you have to do 40 credits in the last year for the masters. So it’s possible that the MS in Statistics can be finished in one year since it requires about the same number of credits. Also, undergraduates generally take 45 credits a year. But I would definitely call or e-mail the department with your questions to make sure.

OK many thanks for this. I will email them to ask.
